InterConnect will develop solutions for a digitalization of the power system based on architectures for the Internet of Things which, with the help of several digital platforms and by using a universal ontology called SAREF, will ensure the interoperability between equipment and systems while preserving the privacy and cybersecurity of data of different users.
The project, which will last for four years, is divided into eight fields of action: power grid, big data, cybersecurity, standardisation, ontology, digital platforms, IoT and cloud.
The project will develop seven large-scale demonstrators in Portugal, Belgium, Germany, Holland, Italy, Greece and France.

E-REDES leads Work Package 4 – Smart Grids Framework for an Interoperable Energy System - that will design and implement a standardized DSO interface and the corresponding API setting the information and communication standards towards the integration of several market platforms, including existing and new systems, to exploit flexibility services provided by market participants.
E-REDES also leads the Portuguese pilot, that will allow two types of consumers – residential and commercial – to access solutions that will connect them to the energy of the future.
The residential demo will be deployed in 250 households in 5 sites, across the country. The commercial demo will be developed and installed in 12 retail stores also spread along the Portuguese territory.
