The Eclipse Project will enable testing the active participation of customers in new ways of managing electricity consumption, with benefits for everyone involved.
The pilot project in mainland Portugal will take place in the districts of Braga, Porto and Guarda and will cover around 50 households. The project aims to enable voluntary reductions in energy consumption based on potential incentives, assess customer response to requests for flexibility, make the electricity grid more dynamic, stable and resilient, and promote information on flexibility services.
The ‘Eclipse Project’ feature will soon be available on the Digital Counter, allowing users to respond to requests for flexibility services by selecting appliances that they agree to turn off during the specified period. The Eclipse project will start in September 2025 and end in August 2026. The results of the project will be made available at the end of the project.
