E-REDES continues to reinforce repair work on high and medium voltage networks in the central region of the country. The worsening weather conditions experienced last night and the damage to the site are hampering repair work on the network, which has been weakened by the destruction caused by Storm Kristin.
At 10:00 a.m. today, E-REDES had approximately 161,000 customers without power, with operational resources concentrated in the most affected districts. The vast majority of customers without power are located in the district of Leiria, approximately 151,000, Santarém with approximately 26,000, Castelo Branco with 12,000, and Coimbra with 3,000.
All available operational resources, both human and technical, have been mobilised and distributed across the most critical areas. To reinforce and mitigate the damage caused, E-REDES has mobilised six mobile power stations and more than 400 generators.
The installation of generators to support hospitals and other services that are essential to citizens' lives (water, telecommunications, civil protection and authorities) remains a priority, as does the installation of generators in all municipal headquarters where power has not yet been restored.
E-REDES has operational teams working continuously in the field, with additional personnel and equipment being brought in from other areas to the central region of the country, keeping around 1,200 personnel in the field.
In the event of a fault, E-REDES asks customers to contact them via WhatsApp (913 846 398), the digital counter or the freephone number 800 506 506.
