E-REDES reinforces operation with 2,400 personnel mobilised
Teams from Spain, Italy, France, and Ireland reinforce the operation to respond to damage caused to the electricity grid.

To speed up the restoration of power and recovery from the damage caused by Storm Kristin, E-REDES has reinforced its operational resources, currently employing around 2,400 operational staff, including teams from other countries, namely Spain, Italy, France, and Ireland.

This operation also has 12 drone operation teams and 2 helicopters to help identify the damage caused.
In addition, 6 mobile power stations and 500 generators were mobilised to supply power to the most critical areas.

At 3:30 p.m. today (Thursday, 5 February), E-REDES has 75,000 customers to supply due to Storm Kristin, with Leiria having 54,000 customers without power, Santarém with 11,000 customers, Castelo Branco with 7,000 and Coimbra with 3,000. In total, E-REDES has 89,000 customers to supply due to the worsening weather conditions caused by the Leonardo Depression.

The damage to the network is extensive: more than 6,000 kilometres of network have been affected and thousands of poles have been damaged.

E-REDES remains committed to restoring power supplies as quickly and safely as possible.
