The restoration of power supply following Storm Kristin is almost complete, with only a few isolated cases remaining, which are still being resolved by teams on the ground.  

At the same time, work continues to consolidate the recovery, with the replacement of temporary measures carried out during the emergency phase with permanent solutions. These actions aim to strengthen the safety and resilience of the electricity grid, including the stabilisation of structures, the replacement of damaged components and the normalisation of technical access in the most affected areas.  

Depression Kristin caused significant damage in several regions of the country, with winds exceeding 200 kilometres per hour, affecting more than 6,000 kilometres of network and damaging around 5,800 poles. The scale and spread of the damage required a large-scale operation involving technically complex interventions, many of which were carried out in adverse weather conditions and in locations that were difficult to access. 

To respond to this scenario, around 2,500 professionals were mobilised, including specialist teams from Spain, Brazil, France, and Ireland.  

Coordination between teams, partners and international teams was crucial in speeding up the restoration of the service and ensuring a coordinated, safe and effective response, reducing the impact on the affected populations.
