The “Dar Energia à Cultura” Programme, part of E-REDES’ Social Investment Strategy, selected eight projects for the 2025 edition. Applications were submitted by municipalities and cultural associations and cover various regions of the country, ensuring a balanced territorial distribution.

The initiative promotes artistic interventions in distribution network infrastructure, such as transformer stations and distribution cabinets. The aim is to improve the urban setting of these assets and bring the electricity network closer to local and artistic communities.

The selected projects respond to social challenges such as promoting local culture and art, raising awareness of climate change, preserving biodiversity and boosting the energy transition.

The winning entries were submitted by the Municipality of Ponte da Barca, the Parish Council of Duas Igrejas (Municipality of Miranda do Douro), the Municipality of Murtosa, Aldeia Pintada – Cultural Association (Municipality of Batalha), the Municipality of Ourém, the Parish Council of Arruda dos Vinhos (Municipality of Arruda dos Vinhos), the Municipality of Estremoz and the Municipality of Vila Viçosa.

The next phase is the technical and safety validation of the infrastructure to be upgraded. Technical teams from the respective areas will monitor this process, as well as the formalisation of partnerships, which includes the allocation of donations to implement the projects.

In addition to their cultural impact, these interventions contribute to enhancing and protecting the assets of the electricity grid. In coordination with local authorities, improving the urban environment helps to reduce vandalism and degradation and promotes more efficient and sustainable management of the grid.

The launch of the 2026 edition of the “Dar Energia à Cultura” Programme is scheduled for the first half of this year.
