Community Safety

Know the electrical hazards. Protect yourself.

Electrical hazards exist. Recognize them to stay safe. Whether working near power lines, excavating, cutting trees, or passing near damaged or underground cables or open cabinets, risk is always present. Even in outdoor activities like fishing or using drones, risk is always present. Here you'll find materials that help prevent accidents and protect your safety and that of others. And remember: if you detect a hazard or malfunction, call 800 506 506.

First assess, then cut.

Whenever you're cutting or trimming vegetation, be sure to check for nearby power lines!

Remember that branches, trunks, ladders, or tools can conduct electricity, and electrical discharges can occur without direct contact.

That's why it's essential to always maintain a safe distance of more than 5 meters from power lines. If this isn't possible, contact E-REDES to learn how to proceed safely.
