The E-REDES programme supports students on the Electrical Networks Technician course by promoting vocational training and integration into the labour market through initiatives involving schools, teachers and students.

At E-REDES, we train young people in partnership with schools, offering training aligned with the demands of the energy transition.

This is a course with high employability, which provides you with a secondary-level qualification and also gives you the opportunity to progress to higher education.

ABOUT THE COURSE

  • Certification and Qualification: Dual certification comprising a 12th-year Leaving Certificate and a Level 4 Vocational Qualification Diploma under the National Qualifications Framework (QNQ).
  • Duration: 3 academic years (secondary education)
  • Link to the workplace: Strong practical component, including work-based learning (work placement)

FOR APPLICANTS

  • You have completed Year 9.
  • Continue your studies in technical and vocational education.

SUPPORT FROM E-REDES
Throughout the three-year course, you will receive support and tools to help you become a qualified technician, ready for the job market.
600 hours of work placement
The work placement takes place during the 11th and 12th years (300 hours in each year). It can be carried out either within E-REDES itself or with the company’s business partners.
Access to the labour market
Preparation for working life and visibility among E-REDES and other employers in the sector. Training for first-time employment, through the development of skills to prepare applications for a first job.
Study visits
At E-REDES facilities or sector facilities: substations, dams, dispatch centres.
Equipment
We provide personal protective equipment free of charge to every student and donate various items of equipment to schools for classroom training.

Access to E-REDES training grounds
We give you the opportunity to put into practice some of the techniques you have learnt in theory during your studies.

E-REDES awards a cash prize to the top student or group of top students at the end of each course.
