Smart Meters
We are equipping the electricity grid with smarter equipment, capable of optimising operations and energy management, and ensuring a new platform for consumer engagement, while at the same time making it possible to act on our carbon footprint.
Between 2021 and 2024, we invested around €225 million in smart meters (EMI) and distribution transformer controllers (DTC), to ensure 100 per cent national coverage by 2024.
We have already surpassed the mark of 6.6 million installed in mainland Portugal, with a view to avoiding more than 3,500 tonnes of CO2 in 2025.
InovGrid 20-30
We will invest over 632 M euros (OPEX and CAPEX) in research, development and innovation (R&D+i) and in digitalisation between 2021 and 2025, to develop and integrate technology into the Company's business, through a comprehensive partner ecosystem, and thus contribute to addressing the challenges of energy transition.
Charging electric vehicles
In the field of energy efficiency, we integrated the electric vehicle charging infrastructure, reaching 6,392 installations with charging points interconnected to the MOBI.E network.
Self-consumption
Within the scope of the integration of renewable production, the commitment until 2025 is to achieve nearly 80,000 new connections of Production Units for Self-consumption, 205 new connections of PRE (production under special regime) and UPP (Small Production Units). In 2021, almost 41 thousand new connections of UPAC and 13 PRE plus UPP were made.
Electric Fleet
We are reinforcing the light electric fleet and installing private E-REDES charging points.
In 2021, we reached 13 per cent of the light electric fleet and in 2024 we reached 407 private charging points. From the 20 UPACs installed in 2021, 346MWh of renewable energy was produced, which avoided the emission of 70 tonnes of CO2. By the end of 2025, we expect to avoid the emission of 522.5 tonnes of CO2.
