Some of the most important challenges in the management and operation of the distribution network are related to the knowledge of its own network assets, and this challenge is particularly evident in low voltage, given the:
- Progressive penetration of distributed energy resources;
- Changing customer behaviour, namely due to the growth in the number of "prosumers" and the energy transition, in particular the proliferation of electric vehicles;
- The low voltage network’s load dynamics;
- Regulatory pressure on technical and commercial losses.
