Porto Energy Transition Accelerator wins 'Cities & Territories of the Future' award

Project was distinguished by the Portuguese Association for the Development of Communications

The Porto Energy Transition Accelerator, a project developed by E-REDES, Porto City Hall and Porto Energy Agency, won the 'Cities & Territories of the Future' award, given by the Portuguese Association for Communications Development (APDC). The distinction occurred in Lisbon's 31st edition of the APDC Digital Business Congress, entitled "Tech and Economics: the way forward".

Formalized in July 2020, through the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the three entities, the Energy Transition Accelerator of Porto foresees the development of innovative technological solutions in the city of Porto, in areas such as decentralized production, optimization of charging for electric mobility and public lighting. The project also includes the Porto Energy Transition Center (CTEP), an educational space on the evolution of smart grids and cities and a catalyst for best practices, in partnership with scientific, academic and business institutions.
