It is essential for E-REDES to consolidate the social right to operate, reducing business risk, through dialogue and interaction with its stakeholders.

In exercising our social responsibility, this relationship is established in accordance with the principles of conduct of the Code of Ethics and, in particular, the Social Investment Policy defined by the EDP Group.

Since 2019, E-REDES has contributed to the integrated development of the communities where it operates, with programmes aimed at protecting biodiversity, promoting energy efficiency, social inclusion, sustainable lifestyles and access to culture and art, responding to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations to which it has subscribed.

The implementation of a new Social Investment strategy in the EDP Group, with effect from 2022, contributed to the revision of the framework of the programmes and initiatives included in the E-REDES Social Investment Plan organising them into three investment vehicles with social impact: 

• Social Licence to Operate - Created to respond to local realities and needs in various areas (e.g. emergency, education and training, social inclusion, health, among others); 
• Fair Energy Transition (Access to Energy; Energy Poverty; No One Left Behind; Biodiversity; Climate Action) - Focused on projects that promote access to energy with thermal comfort and efficiency, mitigating the inequalities of the energy transition, as well as projects in the areas of biodiversity protection and climate action; 
• Optimisation of Investment in Culture - Directed to a programme to enhance art and culture in communities.
